Are you a diy bride who needs to put together your wedding reception playlist? Or, perhaps you’re in charge of the music for a wedding reception coming up.
At any rate, below is a sample wedding reception playlist we may use while DJing at a wedding reception.
This sample playlist is going to focus on the dancing portion of the reception.
Ultimate Wedding Reception Playlist
The method we use when we DJ at wedding receptions is to start off with a mix of classics that everyone knows. Depending on the energy level in the room that leads up to dancing will determine the energy levels of the first few songs we play. This will get everyone involved in the beginning and give us an opportunity to start reading the crowd while people are dancing.
We then begin a gradual transition to hip hop and top 40 dance music making sure to mix in some rock and roll, Motown, disco, funk, classic rock, 80’s, 90’s and 00’s along the way. Sometimes even a little country gets mixed in too.
