Tacoma Waterfront Wedding Reception
I recently visited The Grand Plaza at Point Ruston in Tacoma, WA for what is going to be the setting for a Tacoma waterfront wedding reception. Since there has never been a wedding reception there before, I wanted to go for a preview.
My imagination was immediately put to use because there was not much to see in terms of a setup for a wedding reception. It was also a gloomy day out and we’re not used to that out here in the Pacific Northwest. 😉
It’s two big platforms, one upper and one lower. For this particular wedding, the couple is wanting their cocktail hour on the upper platform and dinner and dancing on the lower platform.
Waterfront Setting for a Tacoma Wedding
On a great day, this is a great place to have a wedding. This is an ideal choice for a larger wedding since the platforms are so big. Here is the view from the upper platform overlooking the water with the lower platform below looking off to the left and right…
If you walk forward to where the stairs start to go down to the lower platform, this is what it looks like…
I understand there will be a large tent down below for where the tables and chairs will be. If you turn around and look back at the upper platform, this is what you’ll see…
There was also a sound system for the upper platform which may be able to play a cocktail hour playlist.
