If you’re trying to come up with some first dance wedding song ideas to dance to at your wedding, why not make it a custom mix of songs and perform a choreographed dance to it like the bride and her brother did in the video below.
Imagine the look on everyone’s faces if you all of a sudden started doing the whip/nae nae out of nowhere.
At this wedding that I provided DJ entertainment for at the Courtyard Tacoma Downtown in Tacoma, WA over the summer of 2015, the bride and her brother did just that.
This post is to help you with first dance wedding song ideas but in this example, it was a special dance with the bride and her brother. You can actually do the dance with whoever you want.
First Dance Wedding Song Ideas [MIX]
A custom mix of songs for your first dance is where we take three to six songs of your choice, or we can pick them too, and edit them so that they blend together and sound good.
At this particular wedding, the bride had me use:
- “The Blue Danube” by The Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra
- “Murder She Wrote” by Chaka Demus and Pliers
- “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan
- “Tootsie Roll” by 69 Boyz
- “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) by Silento

I didn’t get a chance to record the whole dance but I did get a good portion of it, take a watch and listen for the transitions to the next songs…
