Dubreezy Entertainment couldn’t have been any happier that Nick and Lauren chose us to DJ their wedding at Fireseed Catering on Whidbey Island in Washington State.
It wasn’t the first time we’ve traveled to Whidbey Island to DJ a wedding but it was the first time for us to perform at Fireseed.
Fireseed Wedding Ceremony
Since this venue provides a ceremony sound system and the couple hired live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, Dubreezy Entertainment wasn’t needed for either which both took place on the lawn.
After cocktail hour, it was time for guests to head into the barn for the reception and that’s when Dubreezy Entertainment’s part kicked in.
Fireseed Wedding Reception
As guests arrived into the barn, they were greeted to an up-tempo mix of top 40, classic rock, blues, reggae and r&b love songs with an emphasis on Motown music.
Once all the guests came in and took their seats, it was time for the grand entrance.
We introduced the entire wedding party at this one and the song they chose was “I Want You Back” by The Jackson 5.
Once introductions were done, it was time for a delicious family-style meal prepared by Fireseed Catering.
Once dinner was served, the toasts followed shortly after.
The toasting order was as follows:
- Father of the Bride
- Father of the Groom
- Best Man
- Maid of Honor
- Bride and Groom to close
Once toasts finished up, it was time for Nick and Lauren to cut their wedding cake which was also prepared by Fireseed’s in-house wedding cake baker.
The cake cutting song was “For Once In My Life” by Stevie Wonder.
After the cake cutting, it was time for Nick and Lauren to enjoy their first dance together as husband and wife.
The rest of the special dances were as follows:
- Bride/Father Dance – “In My Life” by The Beatles
- Groom/Mother Dance – “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong
- Wedding Party Dance – “September” by Earth, Wind and Fire
After those dances were done it was time for the “dance party” which is all the bride said she wanted so she got just that.
We took a small break in the action for the bouquet and garter tosses. The bouquet toss song was “Single Ladies” by Beyonce.
The highlight of the night came during the garter removal when the bride “iced” the groom. Luckily I caught the whole thing on video, take a look.
“Pony” by Ginuwine was the garter removal and toss song.
After that, it was great dancing for the rest of the night, the last song of the night chosen by the couple was “All My Life” by K-Ci and Jojo.
