An elementary school dance at Phantom Lake Elementary School in Bellevue, WA plus DJ Dubreezy equals a super fun harvest party. Over 200 students and parents were on hand for this two hour event.
Now before we go forward, you probably just wondered to yourself “I didn’t know elementary schools have school dances…” believe it or not, yes elementary schools do have school dances.
This particular one was a harvest party and most of the students and some parents were dressed in costumes.
Elementary School Dance DJ Recap
It seemed like everyone showed up right at 6:00 pm so it didn’t take long for the kids to come running up to get an up close look at all the colorful and flashing dance floor lights that were setup.
Also, I got a bunch of requests for the very popular “Watch Me/Whip Nae Nae” along with “Hit The Quan” and “Everything Is Awesome” from the Lego movie.
After getting them dancing for awhile, my assistant and I did a limbo contest complete with limbo themed music. We continued to DJ a mix of dance music, interactive dance music and games.
For the dance music, popular songs from Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber were in the mix.
For interactive dance music, “Hokey Pokey”, “Cha Cha Slide”, “Macarena” and “Cupid Shuffle” were also added to the mix.
And for the games, in addition to limbo, we did a hula hoop contest, scavenger hunt and another hula hoop game called thread the needle.
We ended with some classics from Vengaboys and of course Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” which got some of the parents out there dancing too.
If you are ever in need of an elementary school dance DJ or know someone who will be, make sure to check out or refer them to Dubreezy Entertainment.
