Gearing up for the summertime in the Emerald City means having a quick playlist with some of Seattle’s most iconic songs is a must.
After 20 years of dedicated DJ entertainment in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve compiled a playlist of the best five songs to jam to this Summer.
All of these songs originate from Seattle, Washington and represent many of the aspects we love about this city.

1. “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix A Lot
Sir Mix A Lot, an iconic hip hop star from Seattle released this song “Baby Got Back” in the early 90’s. This song was a hit and is still played till this day. Great for summertime partying!
2. “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore
Macklemore, famous rapper from Seattle, released “Thrift Shop” in 2012 which was a hit across the country. Seattle Pride.
3. “New Way Home” by Foo Fighters
Foo fighters, an iconic American Rock Band based out of Seattle, captivated many with their track “New Way Home”.
4. “Hello Seattle” by Owl City
Owl City’s original track named “Hello Seattle” may arguably be one of the most recognizable songs that represent Seattle. Mixing electric sounds with their track, it is truly unique.
5. “Summer in Seattle” by The Laurie Lewis Quintet
To switch it up, we decided to add some Jazz to your summer nights. “Summer in Seattle” by The Laurie Lewis Quintet is a beautiful song that will soothe your soul on those warm Seattle summer nights.
