Using karaoke entertainment & DJ services together can make for a fun and uniquely entertaining event. There are a few different ways you can pull this off successfully otherwise you can make a party die pretty quickly. I’ll discuss a few different ways I’ve used karaoke entertainment & DJ services together in the past and what I found worked the best. Ultimately, you’ll have to know your guests before choosing how to use them both together.
Karaoke Entertainment & DJ Services at a Corporate Party
Depending on the amount of people attending the event, you can have an area that is the main dance floor where people that want to dance can go to dance and then have a separate room or area where you have the karaoke entertainment set up at for the people that want to do karaoke.
If you have over 150 guests, this can work because any less, you might as well keep everything in one place since it’s a smaller group. Your crowd will have to be pretty split with people that only want to do one or the other.
Just be aware that if you do go with this option, the costs can become higher since there will be two separate sound systems needed from your DJ company. Also, make sure the venue that you choose can accommodate this and not have each section interfering with the other.
If you decide to have it all in one place, consider having a designated time frame for karaoke that way you’re not boring all the guests that do not have an interest in karaoke and that want to hit the dance floor.
- 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM Cocktail Hour/Mingling/Appetizers
- 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM Dinner
- 7:45 PM – 9:00 PM PM Karaoke Entertainment (right after speeches/awards, if any)
- 9:00 PM – 10:00 PM Karaoke Entertainment & DJ Services
- 10:00 PM – 11 or 12 DJ Services
This sample outline gives both groups to enjoy their favorites. Work closely with your DJ to plan this out.
Karaoke Entertainment & DJ Services at a Wedding Reception
For a wedding, I definitely would keep the dancing and DJ in the same area. A wedding is a lot more intimate and you don’t want your friends and family to be split up. Similar to the event outline in the corporate section of this post, schedule some time for both but not too much since you have your special dances to take care of.
Karaoke Entertainment & DJ Services at a Kids Event
For kids events, I would not necessarily have a plan for this since kids like to keep things moving along anyways. I would have it there as an option and it could possibly end up being the highlight of the night.
The kids really love hearing their voices on a microphone more than anything.
