Matthew and Mackay’s wedding in Woodinville kicked off our 2023 wedding season. The two chose Willows Lodge located 20 miles northeast of Seattle, Washington in the heart of Woodinville’s wine country and we were there to provide the DJ entertainment.
We provided two sound systems. One main DJ setup inside with dance floor lights and uplights and another secondary system for the outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour.
After getting all of the DJ and lighting equipment setup, there was plenty of time for pictures of the decor. Take a look at all the eucalyptus themed wedding decor provided by the the family of one of the grooms.
Guests started arriving around 4:00pm, which was a little earlier than planned. They gathered on the outdoor patio and waited for the ceremony to begin which was scheduled to start at 5pm.
We got the prelude music and the couple requested piano covers of Frank Ocean songs.
As we approached the ceremony start time, the weather started to become a concern. The clouds started to roll in and were getting thicker and darker by the minute. The weather report leading up to the wedding did not call for rain in the forecast but checking the hourly forecast on the day of, it now said rain and thunder showers starting at 5pm.
The catering staff decided to make the call to bring cocktail hour inside due to the weather report. After everything was done getting moved inside, the ceremony was underway.
Willows Lodge Woodinville Wedding Ceremony
Officiating the ceremony was a good friend of one of the grooms who he previously officiated her wedding.
I received the cue from the coordinator to begin the processional music. The officiant took her position and in came the grooms together. The ceremony lasted approximately 15 minutes and then it was on to cocktail hour.
Processional Song: “Calgary” by Vitamin String Quartet
Recessional Song: “Only You” by Yazoo
The rain ended up holding off thankfully. Although the catering staff moved everything inside, the outdoor patio remained open for cocktail hour.
Woodinville Wedding Reception Highlights
I invited the guests inside to take their seats and welcomed in the couple with a grand entrance. They gave a brief welcome speech to their guests and also informed them that this was going to be a laid-back kind of event in terms of wedding formalities and really just wanted them to enjoy the night and party.
Once their speech wrapped up, dinner was served buffet style and the rest of the night was a dance party.
The couple provided around 10 or so dance songs they wanted to hear along with one rule. The rule was no line dances like Cupid Shuffle, Cha Cha Slide, etc.
Their crowd ranged from quite a few kids and up. Since there were no other traditions taking place it was just what the couple wanted, a dance party!!
It was a wide variety of music styles from Taylor Swift, edm songs, Dua Lipa, some 80s, lots of top 40 and a little bit of hip hop.
Thank you Matt and Mackay for trusting Dubreezy Entertainment to DJ your special day and spend it with all your loved ones, it was such a blast!!
I also want to thank Tiphany and her team with Elegant Affairs for the awesome coordinating work and keeping the event running smoothly.
