Chris and Marley’s Great Gatsby Themed Wedding
Dubreezy Entertainment has returned to the Pacific Tower in Seattle to DJ another event. This time, a great gatsby themed wedding ceremony and reception for Chris and Marley. About 140 people were on hand to witness this special occasion. The colors were white, black and gold. Eight uplights were brought along all set to gold for the first part of the wedding. They changed to random sequences of colors by the time dancing started.u

#thegreatfoxwedding was their hashtag for the event.
Great Gatsby Themed Wedding Ceremony
There ceremony was outside on the lawn and since guests were going up to the Panoramic Room immediately after the ceremony for the reception, we brought two DJ sound systems to avoid an equipment move and a room without music once guests made their way to the eighth floor.
Keeping with the great gatsby themed wedding flow, the couple requested that we play music from the 1920’s and fun jazz for the prelude. We mic’d up the officiant with a clip on mic in which it also picked up Chris and Marley as they said their vows to one another.
The songs for the bridal party’s processional, bride’s processional and the recessional were:
- Jon Schmidt – “Love Story Meets Viva La Vida” (instrumental)
- Richard Wagner – “Here Comes the Bride”
- Disclosure – “Latch” feat Sam Smith
Once the ceremony ended, guests were invited up to the eighth floor of the Pacific Tower to the Panoramic room.
Great Gatsby Themed Wedding Reception
As guests came up, we stayed with the great gatsby theme and continued to play music from the 1920’s and also mixing in some rat pack era too for cocktail hour.
When it was time for the wedding party, bride and groom to join their guests, we introduced them for the grand entrance. All members of the wedding party were introduced before the bride and groom made their entrance.

Once everyone got introduced and took their seats at the head table, dinner was next.
The catering staff at FareStart served all guests individually and when dinner service completed, to keep the evening at a natural flow, we went right into toasts, cake cutting, first dance, family dances and bouquet toss to save dancing for the end.
- Cake Cutting Song – “Sweetest Thing” by U2
- First Dance Song – “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers
- Bride/Grandfather Dance Song – “Wind Beneath My Wings” by Celine Dion
- Groom/Mother Dance Song – “In My Life” by The Beatles
- Bride/Stepfather Dance Song – “Father and Daughter” by Paul Simon
- Bouquet Toss Song – “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” by Beyonce
After all of the special events, it was time for open dancing. We played a mix of top 40, 80s, classic rock, r&b and hip hop. The only request we received from the couple was to make sure we played a song from The Notorious B.I.G towards the end of the night.
I chose “Juicy” and according to this Instagram repost, it was a great choice.
All of this combined with the picturesque views of the Seattle Skyline and classy decor made for a very successful great gatsby themed wedding.
