Occasionally companies will have their holiday parties in January because they are too busy during the holiday season to have one. That was the case for the Privateer Holdings and Leafly holiday party this past weekend at Westland Distillery in Seattle, WA.
I arrived about two and a half hours early since they went with karaoke, uplights and DJ entertainment to allow for extra setup time. The party went from 8:00 pm to midnight.

Guests started to arrive right around 8:00 pm and since I was given the freedom to read the crowd and play music accordingly, I went with a mix of upbeat current top 40, 80’s and a little classic rock, hip hop and r&b. No holiday music was played.
Guests were also invited to sample the whiskey provided by Westland Distillery and enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres and dinner provided by Herban Feast Catering.
Once dinner concluded, a speech was given by the CEO of Privateer Holdings followed by a speech from the CEO of Leafly.
Karaoke and DJ mix was set for the rest of the evening.

Guests had over 9,000 karaoke songs to choose from. It ended up being about 80% karaoke and 20% DJ music for the last hour and a half.
Some of the songs chosen were “Fallin'” by Alicia Keys, “Heartache Tonight” by Eagles, “All About That Base” by Meghan Trainor and “Bitch Better Have My Money” by Rihanna.
