DJ Dubre Hayes aka DJ DUBREEZY provided DJ services for Nate and Nicole’s Afifi Shrine wedding at, Tacoma wedding venue, the Afifi Shrine Event Center.

Nate and Nicole were expecting over 200 people to attend which is a slightly larger guest count than most weddings we perform at. That means extra DJ sound equipment was brought in to accommodate those extra guests.
We arrived about two and half hours early to a fully decorated hall with all kinds of extras that someone put a lot of time and effort into. Check out some of the deocrations below:
Afifi Shrine Wedding Reception
As guests started to arrive, the couple selected a mix of upbeat background music for cocktail hour that ranged from classic rock artists like Creedence Clearwater Revival and Led Zeppelin to r&b artists like India Arie and Mary J. Blige.
After cocktail hour it was time for introductions and grand entrance. Nate and Nicole chose to have their entire wedding party introduced. “Knock You Down” by Keri Hilson was the song they were all introduced to.

They did their first dance immediately after grand entrance to “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz.
After the wedding party introductions and grand entrance for Nate and Nicole, it was time for dinner. This couple had a unique way to dismiss table to the buffet. They put names of songs on each table and when we played the song, if that was the song on your table then your table got to go next.
Toast and cake cutting followed dinner. Cake cutting song was “Sweet Thing” by Chaka Khan.
After cake cutting, there was a short dance break since this massive crowd was eager to dance so we played some good wedding dance music and got people out on the floor and even got to the “Electric Boogie (Slide)” by Marcia Griffiths.
We then cleared the dance floor and did more special dances
- Bride/Father Dance – “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle
- Groom/Mother Dance – “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd
- Anniversary Dance – “My Girl” and “The Way You Do The Things You Do” by The Temptations
- Dollar Dance – “Buy You A Drink” by T-Pain
- Bouquet Toss – “Real Love” by Mary J. Blige
- Garter Toss – “Give It To Me Baby” by Rick James
which were all done back to back to back.
