What is uplighting?
Over the course of planning for your wedding or event, you will probably come across the term uplighting but may not know exactly what it is. Well, that brings us to the question of what exactly is uplighting?
Uplighting is a lighting effect that’s becoming more and more popular at weddings and events all across the Seattle\Tacoma area. Lights are usually placed on the ground along walls or pillars at your venue, evenly spaced apart, that shine up to the ceiling with a color or colors of your choice. The uplights can also be dim or bright.

Do I need uplighting for my event?
Now that you know what uplighting is, you may be wondering if you need to use them for your event or not. This is going to be a personal preference. Here is some information to help you decide if you should use them.
The first and most obvious reason to use uplighting at your event is the visual aspect it brings to a room. Uplighting can bring all the colors together, especially when they match your decor. It can change a plain room into something spectacular.
Adding uplights to your event can increase the cost however when you get it as an add-on service to your DJ services package, you can save a lot of money rather than paying a lighting company to come in, set them up and program them. It’s an easy setup for the DJ to do who will already be at your event if that’s the type of entertainment you’re going with.
Another reason to consider using uplighting is when it’s time to dance, the lights can change random colors and bring more energy to the room.
