What To Look For When Choosing A Wedding Venue

Looking for places to get married is one of the first things to check off your wedding planning checklist. During your search, there are some things you should be looking out for before making your final decision on a venue.

Questions To Ask A Wedding Venue

Consider your guests as they have traveled and taken time out of their lives to celebrate your special day with you. Here are some tips on what to look for when choosing a wedding venue.

5 Tips On What To Look For When Choosing A Wedding Venue

1. Space

what to look for when choosing a wedding venueMake sure your venue can comfortably hold the amount of guests you are expecting. You do not want your guests chair backs to be bumping into each other. This makes it difficult when guests are trying to move around to go to the bathroom or even when you and your new spouse are trying to greet each table when you make your table visits.

It makes the room hot and there could be a disaster if you have a buffet and people are coming back to their tables with their plates of food.

2. Modern

It’s ok if you want to have your wedding at a venue that’s older than you and your fiance’s ages combined but just make sure there is accommodations for your vendors like a standard power source for your DJ or kitchen equipment if needed for your caterers. Also, think if any of your guests will need special needs to gain access and that it’s available for them.

3. Plush

Your venue must be plush or luxurious. As you walk into the venue, it should have some character and sophistication and be able to pique your interest. Make note as to the way you feel when you walk in. It should be very welcoming and inviting not cluttered.

4. Restrooms

I performed at a venue and to get to the restroom, you had to leave the room that the event was held in, go outside, walk about 150 feet on the sidewalk to the restroom door and afterwards, come all the way back. If it’s raining or cold, this will be inconvenient for you and your guests.

Also, make sure there are enough stalls. You don’t want to have over 125 guests with one toilet for the men and one toilet for the women. Most of your guests will spend the evening waiting in line to use it.

5. Parking

You want all your guests to be there on time and ready for your grand entrance without having to circle around a bunch of times to look for parking.

Some locations have valet service. Find out the parking situation before you decide on the venue.
